Postgraduate at the Energy Research Centre

 
For current research projects in the fields of data-driven modeling, simulation, and optimization of future energy systems (electric mobility, heating networks, electrical grids), the Energy Research Centre at FHV is seeking PhD researchers to contribute to innovative solutions for the energy transition.

Your Role(s)

  • Energy Researcher: You work on scientific questions in the field of sustainable energy systems and develop application-oriented technical solutions
  • Modeler and Analyst: You develop models of energy systems and analyze complex relationships using data-driven and simulation-based approaches
  • Simulation and Optimization Developer: You design and implement simulation and optimization approaches for energy-related applications and processes
  • Project Partner: You collaborate with interdisciplinary teams as well as national and international research partners, actively contributing your expertise to research projects
  • Science Communicator: You document research results, present your work in project meetings, and publish your findings in scientific journals and conference proceedings
  • PhD Candidate: You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your ability to conduct independent research within the framework of a doctoral dissertation at a partner university

Your Qualifications

  • You hold a completed Master’s degree in a technical field such as Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Energy Engineering, or a comparable discipline.
  • You are passionate about energy-related topics and motivated to contribute actively to solutions for the energy transition.
  • You have good knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Python.
  • You work analytically and systematically and enjoy tackling complex technical challenges.
  • You have an interest in applied research and scientific work.
  • You enjoy working in teams and value professional exchange within interdisciplinary research projects.
  • You have good written and spoken English skills.

Your Prospects

  • Employment level: 75% (part-time position; active support for completing a doctoral dissertation)
  • Salary: minimum annual gross salary of € 42.155 (75%-employment). 
    Actual compensation depends on qualifications and experience.
